Telegram alerts for website monitoring
Quick answer
Can Lemwatch send Telegram alerts when a website goes down?
Lemwatch can message you on Telegram the moment a site goes down, using your own bot. You supply a bot token and a chat ID; delivery is unlimited on every plan, including free.
How to set it up
What you need: A bot token from @BotFather plus the chat ID of the person, group or channel to message.
- Message @BotFather in Telegram and create a bot, then copy the token it gives you.
- Send your new bot a message, or add it to the group you want alerts in.
- Open https://api.telegram.org/bot<TOKEN>/getUpdates in a browser and read the chat ID out of the response.
- Paste the token and chat ID into the Telegram fields in Lemwatch and send a test message.
What the alert contains
Alerts arrive as a short formatted message on your phone with the site name, what failed and the time — fast enough to act on before most customers notice.
What Lemwatch watches
Every alert that reaches Telegram comes from the same checks: uptime and response time, SSL and domain expiry, DNS changes, broken links, visual and content changes, Core Web Vitals and SEO regressions. You choose which of them are worth interrupting the channel for.
free for 10 sites — enough to wire the channel up and see real alerts before you decide on a paid plan.
