# Why we built Lemwatch

> Lemwatch started as an internal tool at Pearl Lemon: a way to stop finding out about client outages from the client.

## The problem we had

 Managing a portfolio of client sites meant stitching together an uptime checker, a speed tool, an SSL reminder spreadsheet and a monthly manual SEO audit. Nothing talked to anything else, and the gaps between them were exactly where problems lived — an expired certificate, a stray noindex, a plugin update that broke checkout.

## What we built instead

 One platform that runs every check on every site, confirms failures across regions before alerting, and produces a client-ready report without anyone assembling it by hand.

## Where it is now

 Lemwatch runs continuously across thousands of sites and is still built by the team that uses it daily. Every feature on the roadmap comes from something that went wrong on a real site.
