# Plug Lemwatch into your AI assistant

> A hosted Model Context Protocol server for website monitoring: 19 tools, 5 live resources and 6 playbooks, with role-based access and a confirmation gate on every write.

## What the Lemwatch MCP server does

The Model Context Protocol is the standard way an AI assistant reads data from an outside system. Lemwatch runs a hosted MCP server over streamable HTTP, so Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Cursor and any other MCP client can ask questions about your sites in plain language and get live answers — no local install, no glue code.

Read tools cover sites, incidents, recent checks, uptime history, SSL certificates, SEO audits, maintenance windows and Production Pulse audit reports. Write tools acknowledge and resolve incidents, trigger rechecks, post handoff notes and schedule maintenance windows; every one of them requires an explicit confirmation before it runs.

## What you can ask your assistant once it is connected

- Which of my sites are down right now, and what status code are they returning?
- Which SSL certificates expire in the next 30 days?
- Run a Production Pulse audit on this URL and summarise what to fix first
- Compare this month's uptime and response time against last month
- Acknowledge the open incident on example.com and post a handoff note

## How to connect Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor

Create a Lemwatch account, open Settings → MCP Tokens and mint a token. Tokens start with lwm_ and are shown once. Add the server URL and the token as a bearer header to your client's MCP configuration, restart the client, and the tools appear.

Tokens are scoped to your organisation and inherit your role, so a viewer token cannot write and admin-only tools stay hidden from members. Rate limits apply per hour and are returned in standard headers.

## Is it free?

Yes — the free tier includes MCP access with a reduced tool set and a lower hourly rate limit. Paid plans unlock the full tool catalogue. Pricing is on the [pricing page](https://lemwatch.com/pricing).

Prefer to write code instead? The same data is available through the [REST monitoring API](https://lemwatch.com/api-docs).
