# Monitor a single element with CSS selectors

> Watch only a pricing table, headline, or button by scoping visual monitoring to a CSS selector.

## Quick answer

Add a CSS selector like #pricing-table and Lemwatch captures and diffs only that element — perfect for pricing, hero copy, or CTA buttons.

## What it does

- Renders the full page, then screenshots only the matched element

- Runs pixel + text diff on that element alone

- Ignores everything else (nav, footer, ads) automatically

## Where to find it in Lemwatch

**Visual Monitoring → [page] → Advanced → CSS selector**.

## How to set it up

- Right-click the element in your browser → Inspect .

- Copy a stable selector (prefer id over long div > div chains).

- Paste it into the CSS selector field.

- Click Test selector — Lemwatch highlights what it matched.

- Save. Next capture is scoped to that element only.

## FAQ

### What if the selector matches nothing?

The run fails with "selector not found." Fix the selector or Lemwatch skips the run.

### Can I watch multiple elements?

One selector per page. To watch two elements, add the page twice with different selectors.
