# Content Freshness Tracking

> Monitor how recently your pages have been updated.

## Content Freshness Tracking

### Why It Matters

Search engines favour fresh content. Stale pages can hurt your rankings and provide outdated information to visitors.

### What LemWatch Tracks

- Last modified date for each page

- Average days since update across your site

- Stale page count — pages not updated in 90+ days

- Never-updated pages — pages that have never had a modification date

### Freshness Alerts

 Get notified when:

- A key page hasn't been updated in 30+ days

- Your site's average freshness drops below your threshold

- A previously active section goes stale

### Best Practices

- Update key landing pages at least monthly

- Add "last updated" dates to articles and documentation

- Review and refresh cornerstone content quarterly

- Remove or redirect truly obsolete content
