# Archive History (Wayback)

> View historical snapshots of your website from the Wayback Machine.

## Archive History (Wayback Machine)

### What It Does

LemWatch integrates with the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine to show historical snapshots of your website — how it looked weeks, months, or years ago.

### How to Access

- Navigate to any site's detail page

- Click the Archive tab

- Browse available snapshots sorted by date

- Click any snapshot to view it in the Wayback Machine

### Use Cases

- Track visual changes — See how your site's design has evolved over time

- Verify content changes — Compare old vs. current content

- Disaster recovery — If your site is compromised, reference the last known good version

- Competitive research — Monitor how competitor sites evolve (if they're in your site list)

- Legal/compliance — Document what was published on specific dates

### Limitations

- Wayback Machine snapshots are captured independently — not every version of your site is archived

- Some sites block archiving via robots.txt

- Dynamic content (logged-in views, personalised pages) is typically not captured

- Snapshot availability depends on the Internet Archive's crawl schedule
