# Alert Routing Rules

> Route different alerts to different channels based on custom rules.

## Alert Routing Rules

### Agency Plan Feature

Define rules to automatically route alerts to the right people and channels based on severity, site, or alert type.

### How to Set Up

- Go to Settings → Notifications → Alert Routing

- Click "Create Rule"

- Define conditions:

- Site — Specific sites or site groups

- Severity — Critical, Warning, or Info

- Alert type — Downtime, performance, security, SEO, SSL

- Define actions:

- Send to — Any configured channel: email, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, Telegram, Google Chat, Mattermost, Rocket.Chat, ntfy, PagerDuty, generic webhook, or an automation tool via the Mattermost field

- Priority — Override default urgency

- Set rule priority (rules are evaluated in order)

### Example Rules

- "If Client A sites go down → send to #client-a-urgent Slack channel + PagerDuty"

- "If any site has a security vulnerability → email security-team@company.com "

- "If staging sites have warnings → email the dev team only (no PagerDuty)"

### Default Route

Any alert that doesn't match a specific rule falls through to your **default notification settings**.

### Tips

- Use site groups to simplify rules (e.g., "All production sites" instead of listing each one)

- Test rules with the Send test button

- Review rules quarterly as your site portfolio changes
